not sure what to do about this
I have been with ths guy for about a month and its going pretty well so far... but last night i was in his room and i got some lube out of his night stand right next to his bed and found a bunch of letters in it from his ex that he daited for four years, they have been broken up for two. I asked him if i should be worried about this and he said no. He explained to me that she is in basic training and he writes her a few times a week to keep her spirits up. he said that they are friends and he that he really still cares about her. I know i dont need to worrie about him cheating hes not like that. i dont think im that jealous of a person but for some reason this really pisses me off... and i am really jealous of her for it. I feel like he pays more attention to her because we only hang ont about twice a week and the letters were right next to his bed too seemed weird. Am i being selfish? I would not be as mad if he wrote her every once in a while but twice a week seems a little excessive to me. Wat do you think?

Don’t be jealous. When I went through basic training, any letter from anyone was a blessing. And the more often they came, the better. Basic training, though not grueling, is not fun, either. It’s not like at the end of the day you can kick back and relax in front of a TV. He’s doing her quite a favor, and to do so for an ex-gf is, in some respects, rather noble of him. And to tell you about should say something of his character and what you have in a bf.
To be honest and not to hurt your feelings, but you need to grow up, that is, mature some more. You’re pissed about his letters not because he’s sending them to an ex-gf, but because that part of you doesn’t want to mature and is looking for any excuse not to.
It’s little things like this that destroy relationships.
